Amsterdam mit der Besetzung:
Die Non Melting Ice Cream Band setzt mit ihrer Musik die amerikanische Brassbandtradtion aus
New Orleans fort und bereichert diese mit modernen Einflüssen aus der Pop-, Funk-, Jazz- und
afrikanischen Musik. In New Orleans gehörte die Musik zum sozialen Leben der multikulturellen
Bevölkerung. Die Band präsentiert diese Tradition mit großer Begeisterung und läßt
das Publikum die Intensität fesselnder Rhytmen fühlen.
Ein Großteil der Bandmitglieder hat das Conservatorium von Amsterdam absolviert (Jazz und Improvisation),
der Rest ist durch Ausübung geschult. Darüber hinaus ist die Gruppe durch die blasinstrumentenkultur in den
Niederlanden beeinflußt.
Die Band war schon regelmäßig zu hören auf Festivals in den Niederlanden und andern
Ländern in Europa: Jazz in Duketown 1999 (Den Bosch), Buskers Festival 1999 Ferrara (Italien),
Panorama Jazz Night 2000 (Pier van Scheveningen), Pflaster Spektakel 2000, Linz (Österreich),
Castell'Arte Festival 2001, Mercogliano (Italien), Notte de Fiaba Festival 2001, Riva del Garda
(Italien)...
